Alt Symbols

Follow

Not sure how to make a smart quote, em dash or an umlaut? Most fonts have sets of symbols that can be made with specific key strokes.

Note: Not all fonts contain special characters. The most common fonts (i.e. Arial, Times, etc.) are more likely to have special characters embedded by the creator of that font. Please remember to double check your text before printing.

For PC users, these symbols can be typed by holding down the ALT key and pressing specific letters or numbers. For a complete list, click here: http://www.alt-codes.net/

For Mac users, holding the Option key and pressing specific letters or numbers can type these symbols. For a complete list, click here: http://etc.rmnl.net/macshortcuts/
