Overview

When you click on a photo on a page, the Photo Tools panel appears in the toolbar on the right. You can also bring up the panel by clicking on the button.

The Photo Tools panel offers common image editing capabilities such as brightness, contrast, saturation and opacity controls. You can also crop and reposition a photo within the image well, add borders, shadows, shapes and corners.

Zoom and Crop

Let’s look at an example of how we can use this tool.

We would like to crop the selected photo below so that the three students appear larger and more centered, for a different look.

Before cropping

First, use the zoom slider to make the photo larger or smaller within the photo well:

Then use the hand that appears over the selected photo to move the photo around inside the photo well:

Adjustments

This section allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation and opacity settings of photos.

You will also find the black & white and sepia filters along with the redeye correction tool.

Move a slider to the left to reduce the effect, or to the right to increase it.

Red-Eye Correction

The redeye correction tool allows you to reduce/remove redeye from a photo.

  1. Open the Color panel within the Photo Tools tab
  2. Click on the button

A popup window will open with a closeup of the selected image to correct.
  3. Place your cursor in the center of the redeye, then click and drag outwards to select the redeye portion you wish to correct. Repeat the process for the other eye, if necessary.

Once satisfied with the selection, click on OK to save the changes.

Borders

The border tool allows you to add/remove borders on photos. You can also adjust the border thickness and color.

The photo below has a medium black border. Use the slider to change the thickness of the border; use the dropdown color chooser to change its color.
